LOCR 2018 Sunday W-Squared!

Yep, as promised by the forecast,  Lauderdale Olympic Class Regatta was windy and wild on day 2! The northerly came in with gusts to 26 knots recorded by the Signal Boat as temps dropped as well. LYC Sailor, Chase Carraway, reveled in the blustery conditions taking back-to-back bulls finishing the day with a 14 point lead over second place, Hannah Snellgrove with LYC’s Anna Weis in third place who ground through the fleet a couple times during the day.

Canada’s Robert Davis remains atop the Laser leaderboard, but after a drop US Sailing Team’s Christopher Barnard pulled up in to second place. Barney didn’t even want a tow in at the end of the day, and instead took the opportunity to hike upwind to the channel for a few miles.

The 4.7s have completed six races with Emma Shakespeare leading the pack by four points over Spencer Leman, with Jack Baldwin eight points out of first.

Monday’s forcast looks absolutely full on. The R/C is planning for one race before it gets too dirty out there to continue racing.

RESULTS!

Day Two Pics Thanks to John Porter and Boo Carraway!
