Hangover Bowl Regatta

The HANGOVER BOWL is a regatta sailing event held for the past 40 years at LYC which a group of past commodores cook and serve food to LYC Members, employees, and other guest /non-members of LYC. ALL ARE WELCOME!!! The competitors race C420s which are a very fun double-handed boat to sail in a match racing format. Awards are given for the best to the worst in the regatta. There is a small fee for the individuals and a flat charge for families to cover expenses for food. Usually 80 to 120 people attend, we hope for more every year. The money raised minus the expenses of the food and tips for the staff goes to the Lauderdale Yacht Club Sailing Foundation.
The foundation supports local sailors who compete on the national and international level (Olympics, Championships, Nationals, and World Championships). Donations made to the sailing foundation greatly support our local sailors in the community and are tax deductible. Any donations made help our local sailors to pursue their passions to become the best of the best!
LYC provides the club, boats, tables, grills, tents, chaffing dishes, and anything else to ensure that everyone will have a great time. The clubhouse is closed on January 1st but we are able to use the property for the event. THIS IS A BYOB EVENT, water dispensers will be provided.
